300th post
This month has been really unique. For starters I caught up with 2 poly friends that I haven't in awhile. For one friend it has been more than 5 years since the last time we met. It always feels nice to me to be able to meet up with those who matters to me and I'm thankful for that.
Another thing was volunteering. Was asked to be a volunteer for camp rainbow, a camp for chronically ill children. I have to admit, I wasn't 100% keen at first. But after the camp preparation event where we met the children and spending half a day with them, I'm looking forward to the camp next weekend and bringing joy to them. Also went for a humanitarian forum and fair organised by CHARIS where there were lots of overseas volunteering opportunities which was what I thought of doing first before starting on a job. Gathered some information and will probably do some research before deciding which one I want to do. Why the sudden feel of doing volunteering work? The Sri Lanka OSLT during poly days really opened my eyes and heart then. It really feels good to be able to help and give back to the less fortunate, makes you feel so happy in doing so. And even more so now, that I really want to feel how fortunate I really am like how I felt back then.
This year's birthday has been a first, "celebrating" on my own. Worked till late, had dinner and then took a stroll around marina bay area that I always like to do. After many years of always arranging and celebrating with the people that I want to, I figured that this year I wanted to be on my own. One of the main reasons why, will probably sound kinda stupid so I will not say. But I have always been ok with doing things alone, so this isn't something out of the normal. Came back and some secondary school friends came down to specially pass me a cake that they baked on their own. Was quite touched that they did, the surprise jar cakes another group of friends had for me the day before my birthday and also all the friends who wished me. Though the number of wishes seem to be declining as years goes by, but I guess what I said at my last council annual general meeting is really true. That the people who wants to be in your life, will somehow find a way to be part of it.
Let's see who these people are till the very end, and let's see how next month will be like, especially for work.
