Just a normal and simple blog

Dear blog,
I've been thinking and decided that I'm going to take the next few entries and update about what's happening in my life now.

I just had my napfa test recently. A few of us, the guys in the class have been meeting up to run every tuesday before CSB lesson since the start of this year. And when we had our napfa been booked for us last tuesday, we were somewhat not ready for it yet but still decided to go. Not forgetting how nervous we, or mostly me was on that day.

And so we did the 5 stations and 2.4km run after that. This is what I got.

Bent Knee Sit Ups: 44 A 5
Standing Broad Jump: 246 cm B 4
Sit and Reach: 42 cm C 3
Pull Ups/Inclined Pull Ups: 12 A 5
Shuttle Run: 10.1 seconds A 5
2.4km Run/Walk: 11.51 minutes D 2

Total Points: 24 Award: SILVER

If only this was my academic results. Which reminds me again, I still have not check my results yet. I'll check them soon I promise.

While I was confident of my sit ups, pull ups and shuttle run, I can't say how happy I was when I managed to get at least a C for my standing broad jump and sit and reach. So I was on my way to getting a gold before I started my run, and was wondering if I can break through the 11.40 mins glass ceiling and get gold for my napfa overall. My best timing was 12.07 mins so I was kinda unsure. And when I saw the results, I was somewhat happy but disappointed. I was 11 secs slower to reach a C and this close to have gotten a gold. I made a mistake during the last lap but I doubt that mistake caused me 11 secs.

Anyways so now I'm here keep thinking if I should retake the whole napfa since getting a gold is kinda within my reach. But the thing is that I'm afraid I might not be that lucky for my standing broad jump and sit and reach again. You might think silver is already good enough since I'm able to go in 2 months later for army but getting gold for napfa means something to me. Since young I wasn't always the fittest in class, most of the time just average or even worst then that. From can't do a single chin up in sec4 to now easily 10 and maximum of 15, it really means alot to me. If there's a time I'm closest to getting a gold for napfa it would be now.

I don't know. I'm still considering. Anyways my letter for my posting came in and I'm in PES B. Thank god my thalassemia wasn't that bad and I didn't get into PES C because of it. If not I don't see a point for me going into army.

I guess I'll stop here first and go prepare for next week. It will be a tough week with 2 reports submission, a test and 3 presentations which one of them is BD final presentation. So I'll continue after next week.

Dear blog,
It has been such a long time since I went back to Orchid Park.

A few weeks ago I went back for the first time ever since I had to return to school to take my O level cert. I wrote about that day but didn't felt like posting it until last night after I came home from the alumni dinner.

It was kinda a last minute thing going back to help up choir for cca orientation with Ming gui, Manda and Qiong hui. The moment I stepped into the school I became somewhat excited cause I was eager to see how much the school has changed. And I began to remember each and every incident that happened at each and every spot around the school. Went around finding the teachers that used to teach me, asking each other how have we been. Most of them can't recognise me at first and was shocked to see how much I changed.

I was this close to posting some of the old photos but decided not to in the end. Don't ask me why.

I guess most of the times we're too occupied with the present and busy wondering what can happen in the future, that we took the past for granted. Without the past, we wouldn't be what we are today. Probably few years down the road and when I look back at the recent photos, I'll laugh at myself and wonder what am I doing back then. Like what I'm doing now.

Then came yesterday's alumni dinner. Even though I didn't felt as much as the other time I went back but I guess the dinner was not that bad. Coincidentally our table was all 2a4 people. Anyways it was good to see old teachers that aren't teaching in Orchid Park anymore, old schoolmates and of course, older seniors when I was in sec1 or haven't came in to the school yet. Hahaha

But I though the best part of yesterday was going for a ride in Dicky's jeep after everything. I can't say how damn good it felt to be standing on the jeep with the top open and going on a fast speed. I guess I probably acted like a little boy cause I was really high.

I know the photos are kinda dark but still the jeep looks damn cool.

I still got some other things at the back of my mind that I want to talk about but I think I'll leave them for another time.

Dear blog,
Its a new year already, and a new decade.

I know I'm kinda slow, but due to some unforeseen circumstances I didn't get to finish writing. And also something went wrong with you. So, I had to find a new skin change the template and everything. But I guess its a good thing after all, starting brand new with the first post of the year and decade.

Anyways, back to the post that I written the other time.

On new year eve we went and catch a show, had dinner and walked around mount faber. Lastly ending the year and starting the new one by counting down on henderson wave which we saw the fireworks from marina, vivo and sentosa. Even though I still got alot to say about the day and how it didn't turned out as what I thought it will be, but I'm just glad that we had each other's company for that day. I guess its a good way to start off the new year.

The night lights and the scenery at henderson wave is actually very very beautiful. Its kinda pity that we didn't took any photos except for this one cause there was really alot of people around and all the good spots to take photos were occupied. I really feel like going there another time. Hopefully it will be a better experience.

And I just want to say,

Don't hate the player, hate the game.

I can write a whole paragraph about this but I won't. I guess it applies to almost everyone. Just an interesting phase to keep at the back of your mind. So yea. I'll continue another time.
