I've been thinking and decided that I'm going to take the next few entries and update about what's happening in my life now.
I just had my napfa test recently. A few of us, the guys in the class have been meeting up to run every tuesday before CSB lesson since the start of this year. And when we had our napfa been booked for us last tuesday, we were somewhat not ready for it yet but still decided to go. Not forgetting how nervous we, or mostly me was on that day.
And so we did the 5 stations and 2.4km run after that. This is what I got.
| Bent Knee Sit Ups: | 44 | A | 5 |
| Standing Broad Jump: | 246 cm | B | 4 |
| Sit and Reach: | 42 cm | C | 3 |
| Pull Ups/Inclined Pull Ups: | 12 | A | 5 |
| Shuttle Run: | 10.1 seconds | A | 5 |
| 2.4km Run/Walk: | 11.51 minutes | D | 2 |
| Total Points: | 24 | Award: | SILVER |
If only this was my academic results. Which reminds me again, I still have not check my results yet. I'll check them soon I promise.
While I was confident of my sit ups, pull ups and shuttle run, I can't say how happy I was when I managed to get at least a C for my standing broad jump and sit and reach. So I was on my way to getting a gold before I started my run, and was wondering if I can break through the 11.40 mins glass ceiling and get gold for my napfa overall. My best timing was 12.07 mins so I was kinda unsure. And when I saw the results, I was somewhat happy but disappointed. I was 11 secs slower to reach a C and this close to have gotten a gold. I made a mistake during the last lap but I doubt that mistake caused me 11 secs.
Anyways so now I'm here keep thinking if I should retake the whole napfa since getting a gold is kinda within my reach. But the thing is that I'm afraid I might not be that lucky for my standing broad jump and sit and reach again. You might think silver is already good enough since I'm able to go in 2 months later for army but getting gold for napfa means something to me. Since young I wasn't always the fittest in class, most of the time just average or even worst then that. From can't do a single chin up in sec4 to now easily 10 and maximum of 15, it really means alot to me. If there's a time I'm closest to getting a gold for napfa it would be now.
I don't know. I'm still considering. Anyways my letter for my posting came in and I'm in PES B. Thank god my thalassemia wasn't that bad and I didn't get into PES C because of it. If not I don't see a point for me going into army.
I guess I'll stop here first and go prepare for next week. It will be a tough week with 2 reports submission, a test and 3 presentations which one of them is BD final presentation. So I'll continue after next week.
Ben.
