The story of a boy and braces.Once upon a time, there was a boy. The boy grew up with not so straight teeth since young, but it didn't affect him much. One day as usual the boy went for a routine dental check up in school. The dentist suggested to him that he should put on braces since his teeth weren't that straight. He went home and told his parents about it and they too felt he should put on braces. He was reluctant at first but somehow his dad managed to pull him to the dentist. So he signed up and was put on the waiting list. All that was when the boy was in primary 6. So the boy just carried on with life and soon forgotten all about the braces. One fine day when the boy was in secondary 3, he received a call. It was from the national dental center and they said it was his turn on the waiting list. This time however, the boy knew it was trouble. You see, this boy didn't like braces at all. He thought that wearing them makes him look stupid and ugly. He tried convincing his parents that he did not want to wear them but failed in the end. He knew he was in deep shit. So, he went to his first dental check up and found out that he needed to pull out 4 teeth. The first 2 teeth that was pulled out made him bleed constantly even after many hours and even caused him to have high fever. At that point of time the boy did not want to carry on anymore since the pain was simply unbearable. But it was all too late, because if he were to stop there would be two missing teeth. And so he blamed his parents for causing him so much pain and agony. He couldn't do anything about it but to carry on with the progress. And every time the dentist tightened the wires of the braces, it was so painful that he couldn't eat for at least a few days. You can say its the price to pay for being vain but the problem is, IT WASN'T HIS IDEA OF PUTTING BRACES AT ALL. The parents told the boy that someday he will thank them instead of blaming them. And so helplessly, the boy carried on with life again. With a blink of an eye, two and a half years have passed just like that. When the boy knew that he was finally able to take out the braces he was very happy at first. But after when he took out and looked at himself in the mirror, he noticed something missing. And soon he realised like everything else that had been with him for quite some time, he grew a sentimental value for the braces. How ironic considering how much he hated braces at first. And now he also realised that his parents were right. He's grateful at them for letting him put on braces while he was still young and not wait till he was older. And so the boy carried on with life. This time however, the braces won't be there anymore.
Hmm.. anyways. I don't want to keep talking bout this new good friend or senior or elder sister in every post but. I think our relationship just got better? Like up a notch. Since now our "hotlines" will be on 24/7 for each other if we ever feel like talking to anyone bout anything. And we're both serious about this.
